คำศัพท์ในภาษาอังกฤษที่ทำให้ผู้ใช้สับสน เนื่องจากมีตัวสะกดคล้ายกัน เสียงอ่านคล้ายกัน หรือความหมายคล้ายกัน มีมากมายหลายร้อยคำ มีเว็บไซต์มากมายที่รวบรวมและพยายามอธิบายการใช้คำเหล่านี้ ในเว็บ e4thai.com ผมรวบรวมบางส่วนไว้ที่ลิงค์นี้

แต่ผมอยากจะชักชวนท่านผู้อ่านอย่างนี้ครับ ท่านอย่าไปหวังพึ่งคำอธิบายของเว็บไทยให้มากเกินไปเลยครับ ขอให้ลุยเข้าไปอ่านคำอธิบายของเว็บภาษาอังกฤษโดยตรงดีกว่า ท่านผู้อ่านที่อ่านยังไม่ค่อยเก่ง ตอนแรก ๆ อาจจะรู้สึกขรุขระใจเพราะไม่รู้เรื่องตลอดในทันที แต่ถ้าอดทนฝึกอ่านไปเรื่อย ๆ reading skill ของท่านก็จะพัฒนาขึ้น ซึ่งในแง่นี้ย่อมดีกว่าเอาแต่อ่านเว็บไทยอย่างเดียว เพราะเว็บไทย -ที่มีคำอธิบายเป็นภาษาไทยให้ท่านอ่าน- อาจจะช่วยทำให้ท่านเข้าใจคำศัพท์ แต่จะไม่ช่วยพัฒนา reading skill ของท่าน

ท่านลองดูตัวอย่างข้างล่างนี้นะครับ ผมแปลให้ดูเป็นตัวอย่างนิดหน่อย ท่านลองฝึกแปลคำอื่น ๆ ดูนะครับ ฝึกไปเรื่อย ๆ ไม่ต้องใจร้อน คำไหนยากนัก ก็ข้ามไปก่อนก็ได้ ลองดูนะครับ
