สวัสดีครับ

       มี exercise ภาษาอังกฤษชนิดหนึ่ง คือ "key word transformations" ท่านลองค้นดูในกูเกิ้ลก็ได้ครับ
→ "key word transformations"
       แบบฝึกหัดประเภทนี้ เขาจะให้มา 2 ประโยค โดยประโยคที่ 2 นั้นจะแหว่ง และมีคำบังคับให้มา 1 คำ หน้าที่ของเราคือ นำคำบังคับนั้นไปเติมในประโยคที่ 2 และเพิ่มคำอื่นเข้าไปด้วย โดยให้ประโยคที่ 2 ที่แต่งขึ้นมาใหม่นี้ มีความหมายคล้ายกับประโยคแรกให้มากที่สุด ยกตัวอย่างข้างล่างนี้ครับ

 ตัวอย่าง 1

ประโยคที่ 1: Could you speak English when you were younger?
คำที่ให้มา คือ able
ประโยคที่ 2: When you were younger, ......................... speak English?
ประโยคที่เราต้องแต่งก็คือ When you were younger, were you able to speak English?
ตัวอย่าง 2
ประโยคที่ 1: What time does your plane land tomorrow?
คำที่ให้มา คือ when
ประโยคที่ 2: Can you tell .............................. tomorrow?
ประโยคที่เราต้องแต่งก็คือ Can you tell me when your plane lands tomorrow?
ตัวอย่าง 3
ประโยคที่ 1: The problem we were faced with was a serious one.
คำที่ให้มา คือ came
ประโยคที่ 2: The problem we .................................... was a serious one.
ประโยคที่เราต้องแต่งก็คือ The problem we came up against was a serious one.

        จากตัวอย่างข้างบนนี้ท่านจะเห็นว่า ข้อสอบทำนองนี้วัดทั้งเรื่องสำนวน ภาษา แกรมมาร์ ศัพท์ และ collocation คือคนจะทำได้ต้องอ่านหรือฟังภาษาอังกฤษอยู่เรื่อย ๆ จนคุ้นเคยกับมัน

       ผมรู้สึกว่าข้อสอบทำนองนี้ค่อนข้างยาก แต่ก็อยากจะชวนให้ท่านลองศึกษาดู เพราะมันช่วยให้เราเห็นการใช้ภาษาที่หลากหลาย ทั้งในการพูดและเขียน
